Bandoneon

Santiago Cimadevilla was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
He was from a young age active as guitar player in several bands, and studied classical piano at the Conservatorio Municipal Manuel de Falla.
In 1999 he moved to The Netherlands. He taught himself bandoneon and later on studied at the Rotterdam Conservatory, where he continued his bandoneon studies with Leo Vervelde and later with Victor Hugo Villena. He was a member of the Orquesta Tipica OTRA, with which he performed throughout the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and France.
He has several times been asked to perform as a special guest with various orchestras, including the Argentine Orquesta Tipica Fernandez Fierro, Alfredo Marcucci’s Sexteto Veritango, Tango Dorado, and the Mala Pinta sextet.
Currently he’s a member of the quintet Racing Club Tango and the Bremen-based ensemble Flautango, groups in which he’s also active as an arranger. He’s also the bandoneon player for Los Taitas (with Hernan Ruiz en Orlando Miño), the Hernan Ruiz Trio, Mabel Gonzalez, the jazz band Celano-Baggiani group, as well as for several ensembles with, among others, Marcos Di Paolo, Martijn van der Linden, Mark Wyman
en Luc van Gestel.
